01 – Project Overview
1966 Ford Fairlane
Before installation of the Heidts Mustang II front suspension conversion.
02 – Chassis Preparation
The factory front crossmember was carefully removed to prepare the frame for installation of the Heidts Mustang II Front Suspension System. Accurate measurements and proper fitment are essential for a successful conversion.
03 – Shock Tower Removal
The factory shock towers were carefully removed to create the clearance required for the Heidts Mustang II Front Suspension System and a future Big Block Ford engine installation.
1966 Ford Fairlane – Heidts Mustang II Conversion (Part 2)
04 – Suspension Mock-Up & Alignment
The complete Heidts Front Suspension Assembly was carefully mock-up assembled and aligned to verify fitment, suspension geometry, and weld locations before final installation.
1972 Pontiac Firebird – Complete Roof Replacement
01 – Extensive Roof & Window Channel Corrosion
Years of moisture trapped beneath the factory vinyl roof caused severe rust throughout the roof skin, A-pillars, sail panels, and front and rear window channels. Once the glass and trim were removed, the true extent of the structural damage became clear. At this stage, a complete roof replacement was the only repair that would restore the vehicle's st

02 – Roof Removal Begins
With the full extent of the corrosion confirmed, the original roof was carefully separated from the body and lifted away. Every factory weld was drilled and removed methodically to preserve the surrounding structure and prepare the vehicle for a precise roof replacement.
03 – Replacement Roof Test Fit & Precision Alignment
The replacement roof was carefully positioned and repeatedly checked to ensure factory-correct alignment. Every body line, window opening, sail panel, and door gap was verified before any permanent welding began. Taking the time to achieve a precise fit at this stage ensures proper structural integrity, accurate panel alignment, and a factory-qu
04 – Precision Fit-Up Before Final Welding
Every section of the replacement roof was carefully aligned and securely clamped before welding. Panel gaps, window openings, roof contours, and body lines were repeatedly checked to ensure an accurate factory fit. Proper preparation at this stage is essential for maximum structural integrity and a seamless finished restoration.
5 - Factory Strength Restored
The replacement roof was permanently attached using factory-style plug welds at every original attachment point, followed by continuous seam welding where required for maximum structural integrity. Every weld was carefully inspected, metal finished, and prepared for primer, restoring the roof to factory strength while ensuring a precise fit and long-lasting repair.
8 - Ready for the Next Chapter The roof replacement is now complete. Every panel has been aligned, welded, metal finished, and carefully fitted to restore the body to factory specifications. With the structural repairs complete and the body restored to solid, rust-free condition, the Firebird is now ready to move into the body and paint stage—one step closer to returning to the road better than it

01 - The Damage
Pontiac Firebird – Lower Door Rust
Extensive rust-through at the lower door corner before repairs began.
02 – Surface Prepared
Old paint and rust were ground away to expose clean steel and prepare the door for the new repair panel.
03 - Rust Removed
All rusted metal was cut away to expose solid steel.
03 – New Repair Panel
A custom replacement panel was fabricated and precisely fitted to restore the damaged section.
With the body removed, the Corvette’s chassis was completely restored and rebuilt from the ground up. The weak factory clamshell-style frame seams were reinforced with solid weld beads along the top and bottom, with additional gussets added at critical areas for increased strength and rigidity. The frame, suspension, rear differential, brakes, a
